Kanye West is being sued by the parents of Natalie Green, the then-4-year-old girl he sampled at the beginning of his song ‘Ultralight Beam’ on his ‘Life Of Pablo’ album.
The child, named Natalie, went viral several years ago after she was filmed reciting an impassioned prayer. Kanye used the audio on the track after receiving permission from Natalie’s biological mom, Alice Johnson.
But Andrew and Shirley Green, the adoptive parents of the little girl claims the Johnsons never received a written license or payment for the use of Natalie’s voice, and are seeking profits from “Ultralight Beam” in addition to other damages.
Representatives of Kanye have however not commented.
