Manchester City loanee Olarenwaju Kayode who currently plays for Ukrainian first division side Shakhtar Donetsk, has received a one match ban plus two matches conditionally following the incident that occurred in the Ukrainian Premier League match between his team and Dynamo Kiv on the 14th of April, 2018.
The Nigeria international struck the head of Dynamo Kiev’s Artem Shabanov in the fourth minute of stoppage time though he didn’t receive any card but the Dynamo sent a complaint letter to the Ukrainian Federation, requesting that Kayode should be banned for five matches.
This was announced by the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine on FFU’s official website after their meeting on May 2.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star will now miss Shakhtar Donetsk’s next competitive match against Zorya this Saturday.
Kayode has so far scored three goals from five matches in all competitions.
