Last week, the 2020 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon ended with a bang as Kenyan runner, David Barmasai finishes first in the 42km race.

Emerging as the men’s champion he breaks the four-year record with 2:10:23 lesser than the previous winners. He also wins a whopping $50,000 cash prize along with an additional $20,000 for breaking the record.

The Kenyans and Ethiopians as usual dominated the race track as Ethiopia’s Dekebo Dakamo came in at second place in 2:10:55 seconds. While Paul Chege from Kenya came in third place in 2:11:23 seconds.

Amongst the women, we had Sharon Cherop also from Kenya, who came first in 02:31:40 seconds. While Debeko Tamako came in a close second in 02:10:55.
