It said: “The Trustees have reached the conclusion that the work of the Kevin Spacey Foundation UK is no longer viable and as such the Foundation will be closing on the 28th February, 2018.

“The Trustees would like to thank all their partners, artists and organisations for the great work that has been done in association with the Foundation. The Trustees hope that the objects of the charity will be taken forward by other organisations.”

Spacey, who was the star of Netflix series House of Cards, has had a dramatic fall from grace after a string of men came forward to accuse him of sexual assault.

Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp was the first to speak out, accusing Spacey of making an advance when he was 14. In the wake of Rapp’s interview, dozens of other men came forward with allegations.

Netflix recently confirmed that House of Cards will continue without Spacey, with one final season expected to wrap up the show.
