Speaking to the media after Saturdays edgy win over Crystal Palace, Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp gave an update on the fitness of Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah.
Salah was forced to withdraw from international duty with Egypt due to an ongoing ankle issue and only resumed full training on Saturday at Melwood.
Salah was an unused substitute as Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in an English Premier League, however he was set to come on before Roberto Firmino grabbed a late winner in what has become Liverpool fashion. The home side did have a goal ruled out by VAR
“Mo is all good. He couldn’t train for nine days; he was with the Egyptian national team, went home and trained kind of 60 or 70 per cent the day before yesterday,” Klopp said on the club’s official website.
“Yesterday was the first time 100 per cent, so we had to make the decision of whether we started him or not.
