Canadian Fashion model, spokesperson and activist, Winnie Harlow set the catwalk frazzled for Julien MacDonald’s Aw 17 collection.
The British-Welsh designer, and one of Britain’s Ireland next top model judge, Julien Macdonald had his Aw 17 collection shown at the London Fashion Week (LFW). His showcase was held at London’s dreamy Goldsmith’s Hall. Genuine candle-lit chandeliers draped from the roof, the walls were lined with medieval oil painting set against a red and gold back drop and marble pillars stretched from floor to ceiling.
Macdonald showcased elegant pieces which came mostly in monochrome. Sequins, embroidery and sheer fabrics were all customary in his offering for Aw 17. He had sequins dominating the runway for both sexes, male and female models. For the female models, diverse range of gorgeous fitted dresses with sparkling sequins and fabric were tip-tip. For the male, sweaters with sheer cut-outs and jackets featuring embroidered sequins had the guys owning the runway.
Macdonald had a high class show with host of celebrities watching the show. Seated at the front row were Dougie poynter, Ella Eyre and Toby Huntington to name a few! He presented his final look of the showcase with wonderland cover-star and all round ultra-babe, Winnie Harlow, wearing a sheer black dress within which she oozed femininity and sensuality.
Phones were quickly thrust into the air as the Canadian model took her first steps onto the runway.
The show ended royal as the model walked arm in arm with designer Julien Macdonald. What a show! Classy………Absolutely one of the best shows this season. We can’t wait for more.
