United, which displaced Uefa Champions League winners, Real Madrid’s four-year stint at the top of the list last year, were valued at $4.12 billion, up 12% from a year ago.

Real Madrid, which just appointed the current Spanish national team coach, Julen Lopetegui, as their next coach, is second with a value of $4.08 billion.

The top five is completed by Barcelona ($4.06 billion), Bayern Munich ($3.06 billion) and Manchester City ($2.47 billion).

Forbes, however, tipped Barcelona or Real Madrid could soon overthrow United from the top spot, because of their consistently high performance in the Champions League.
