Lionel Messi was in imperious form as his hat-trick and assist helped Argentina to a 4-0 victory over Caribbean minnows Haiti by 4-0 played in Buenos Aires.
The three goals took Messi’s goal haul for the Argentine national team to 64 goals in 124 appearances in what was a farewell match for the Argentinian football crazy fans as the team head to the World Cup set to get underway in Russia next month.
Messi opened scoring in the 17th minute and made it two in the second half before rounding off his hattrick from a rebound in the 66th minute.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then set up substitute and Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero with 21 minutes remaining to make it 4-0.
Argentina are in Group D where they will face our own Super Eagles, Croatia and Iceland.
Argentina next face Israel on June 9.
