Lionel Messi became the first player to score 400 goals in La liga after he scored in Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Eibar at the Nou Camp.
The 31-year old who was playing his 435th league game, drove his shot into the bottom corner for Barca’s second goal of the night.
Messi also became the second player to score 400 goals across Europe’s top five leagues, following Cristiano Ronaldo whose 409 league goals in 507 games were scored in England, Spain and Italy.
The victory took Barcelona five points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid who defeated Levante 1-0 on Saturday.
