TV Host turn writer, Toke Makinwa released a book over the weekend and it went viral with controversies disturbing the Internet.
Toke’s new book “On Becoming” talks about her marriage scandal, growing up as a rebellious child, finding forgiveness and strengthening her faith in God among others.
Fans have criticised her for being too revealing and airing her dirty laundry for money ever since the book was released. Others have said that she is brave for what she’s doing. The contrasting opinions have led to quite a lot of discussions on social media.
One of the biggest is her revelation of the fact that she got a sexually transmitted disease from her estranged husband.
Despite all these, MI Abaga of Chocolate City took to Twitter today, November 29, 2016, tweeting;
“Just reading excerpts from Toke’s book. It is so beautifully done.. congrats to her. I saw a lot of victim blaming yesterday.. whats funny is.. only by telling her truth will she seize 2b a victim.. few will understand. Last but not least.. as a man that has been serially unfaithful in relationships.. I stand with her ..Nigerian men..we.. have to do better.”
“On Becoming” is Toke’s journey through pain to victory. It is a reality book.
