Millie Mackintosh’s namesake fashion label has gone into voluntary liquidation, according to reports. The brand is said to have gone bust due to a very challenging financial climate in the industry.

The reality television star started the company four years ago, which sold midpriced pieces online and through Asos. Despite at one point being the biggest selling brand on the extremely popular e-tailer (with the exception of Asos’ own labels), this was clearly not enough to keep the company going in the current financial climate.

The business – which is officially called Cammac Venture Limited – will now be liquidated owing hundreds of thousands of pounds. The Standard reports that there will be a shortfall to creditors of 548,000 pounds, with Mackintosh personally losing 178,000 pounds from the company collapse.

“Despite our efforts and being a top seller with a number of Stockists, the financial climate in the fashion industry has proved immensely challenging and the business is no longer sustainable,” Mackintosh told The Evening Standard, adding that she felt “great sadness” about the closure of her company.

Mackintosh’s profile has risen dramatically in recent months due to her reportedly close friendship with the future duchess, Meghan Markle. The two have even holidayed together – at Soho Famhouse in the summer of 2016 and there are plenty of tabloid reports stating that Mackintosh will be one of Markle’s bridesmaids at the May wedding.
