German and Bayern Munich forward, Thomas Muller has hailed Real Madrid and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo for his extraordinary qualities and heading abilities.
Ronaldo who is having a brilliant season so far in the UEFA competition scored back to back hat-tricks against the German side and Atletico Madrid, but it is his heading ability which has caught the eye of the German who faced him in the quarter-final.
Ronaldo has scored 35 goals in 41 appearances this season and has also increased his headed goal rate which Muller feels is down to hard work.
“Basically we all know that he is extraordinary in his appearance and with his sporting performances. So he is already a phenomenon.
“He has enormous physical and technical qualities of course, but what impresses me the most are his heading skills. This is sometimes forgotten a bit. He has a fine technique but also has mad heading skills.” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo was presented with a memorial jersey number 400 by the club president Florentino Perez after a deflected goal in 2010 was imputed as a Ronaldo goal as against the official records which puts his goals scored for the Galacticos at 399.
The 32-year-old described the achievement as special, while praising the team for its contributions and his hard work.
“It is something special. It is a lot of goals and I didn’t expect it. It is the fruit of the work of the whole team, my work, all the people who work in the club and the fans who always support us.”
Ronaldo is likely to be rested for their weekend trip to Granada.
