Wizard’s John Wall hit a three-pointer with 3.5 seconds remaining for the go-ahead points as the Washington Wizards recorded a 92-91 victory over the Boston Celtics in a tie that pushed their Eastern Conference semi-finals to a Game 7.
Wall overcame a one-for-12 start to finish with 26 points and Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 33. The backcourt mates combined for 23 of Washington’s 26 points in the back-and-forth fourth quarter.
‘Bad boy’ Isaiah Thomas and his Celtics team showed up dressed in black but blew up an 87-82 lead over the last two minutes.
An elated Wall couldn’t believe the feat himself as he jumped across the scorers table in shear joy.
He says: “It was just funny to me … it was in my mind throughout the game.”
Game 7 promises much more excitement.
