San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker will miss the remainder of the NBA postseason after suffering a leg injury during his team’s win over the Houston Rockets, the Spurs have confirmed.
The veteran collapsed to the court in agony during the fourth quarter of Spurs’ series-levelling win over the Rockets on Thursday and was carted off by teammates Dewayne Dedmon and Dejounte Murray.
According to a statement by Spurs, the 34-year old had undergone an MRI exam which revealed he had suffered a ruptured left quadriceps tendon requiring surgery.
Parker who is in his 16th season in the NBA has helped Spurs to four NBA titles in the past.
Patty Mills is likely to take his place for the remainder of the playoffs.
