American pop star, Nicki Minaj keeps adding a feather to her cap and this time, she has just broken another record.
According to Billboard, she is now the artist with the “most top 10 hits among women on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (dated June 2) as “Chun-Li” moves 11-9.”
This news comes barely two days after getting gold certification for same single (“Chun-Li”) which was released about a month and half ago, precisely on April 12.
With the move, Minaj has so far recorded a total of 30 top 10s on the list, leading Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige who both have 29 each.
A look at the acts with the most top 10 hits on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay since the chart launched on April 4, 1992, shows Minaj tie up with Usher at 30. While she comes behind Drake who tops the list with 60 top 10 hits; Chris Brown, 46; Lil Wayne, 46; Jay-Z, 35 and R. Kelly, 32.
Sharing the news on her Instagram page, the pop star wrote: “I am so grateful to you guys for the support. Broke a new record today.”
The rapper who is gearing up for the release of her fourth studio album “Queen” set for August, also announced that her world tour would be kicking off in some months’ time, expectedly after the release of the much anticipated body of work.
“My World Tour kicks off later this year. All indoor arenas like before. Can’t wait to announce all my surprises plus the official tour info. Love. Love. Love. 🎀🦄,” she said.
