Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn in the same group as Argentina for the 2018 World Cup. Interestingly, this is fifth time Nigeria will be drawn against Argentina at a FIFA World Cup.
The other countries in Group D are Iceland and Croatia. Both countries were in the same group with Argentina in 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2014.
The FIFA World Cup draws held at the Kremlin in Russia and was coordinated by Gary Lineker and Maria Komandnaya.
It is noteworthy to add that Nigeria defeated Argentina in a recent international friendly. The Russia World Cup will begin on Thursday, June 14 where Russia will meet Saudi Arabia in the opening match of the tourney.
