Cameroon held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw at the Omnisports Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Group B of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Moses Simon gave the visitors the lead in the first half but a second half penalty from Vincent Aboubakar means the Super Eagles need to wait a little longer before a berth in Russia can be sealed.
The Eagles got the lead in the 30th minute through Moses Simon who connected with a Victor Moses delivery after a poor clearance from Cameroon, to blast a fierce shot home.
Later in the second half, Cameroon equalized when referee pointed to the penalty spot in the 75th minute after Ezenwa clashed with Djoum Arnaud.
Vincent Aboubakar took the spot kick and tucked it into the middle of the net.
Nigeria will need to wait till the next game against the Chipolopolo of Zambia in October to seal their qualification for the mundial.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has dedicated the goal he scored for Nigeria Super Eagles against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon to his wife who is adding another year today.
In a message on his twitter, he said, “Thank you Glorious God for everything, we fight till the end. Team spirit. Happy to be on the sheet, and I am dedicating the goal to my Queen princess Mide, best birthday gift I can offer to you, love to see you soon.”
