Flying Eagles of Nigeria began their campaign at the WAFU U-20 Cup campaign in Lome, Togo with a goalless draw against the Junior Mena of Niger Republic.
Host Togo head Group A that also has Burkina Faso, Senegal and Mali, however, the withdrawal of Benin Republic meant Nigeria’s group was pruned down to three teams.
The Paul Aigbogun-led boys will have to wait until Wednesday for their next match against arch rivals, Ghana, who fell to a shock 1-0 loss to Niger in their first game.
