Also known as Babatunde Oyeyemi, Maxivive studied Child Psychology in university as a first degree. He officially started designing in 2007 when he was just in SS1. He however gained recognition in 2011 as he was shortlisted by YNaija, as one of the cutting edge designers in Nigeria. His designs are elegant and daring. It shows a bold step in men’s wear and that he is not afraid to add a little colour to the mix.
Born in Washington DC, Bridget discovered her love for fashion at a tender age and followed her passion. She is a talented designer that gives a whole new meaning to chic. She brings a fresh sensation every season with colours & cut and delivers collections that are international while somehow simultaneously maintaining a touch of ‘home’.
This design reflects a British-Nigerian heritage. It is the perfect blend of both professional and sexy and the design uses Akwete as its signature fabric, ensuring is has a Nigerian touch.
Kenneth studied fashion at the University of Applied Art, Vienna. His collections are a true art form. There is a distinct sense apparent in all his designs that tells us he views fashion as an attitude by everyone and anyone. The designs tell a story. They are simple and unapologetically stylish.
It is a fashion label that was established by Enugu-based twins Sylvia and Olivia Enekwe. They created the brand in 2010 when they were still students. Through participating in various competitions, they have been brought into the limelight. The designs are edgy and youthful. They portray classy youthfulness, defining what we need more in the fashion industry.
Nigeria born Ngozi Ochonogor founded her label U.Mi-1 in other to show appreciation for her three homes which are: Japan, the UK and Nigeria. She is a force to be reckoned with in the menswear world and shows that gender classification can never be a barrier for design.
These designers amongst others are ones to keep in mind. They have made their mark in the industry and their designs are a representation of classy African. They exhibit the fact that passion is a path worth following. Regardless of their educational background, they have made a name and added tremendously to the Fashion Industry.
