Drake recently revealed that he has a ‘sick song’ with Rema, the Mazin Record artiste. When the song will be released, nobody knows. Also this week, Skales featured Akon in a new single titled Kowope. They are not the only Nigerian musicians who have had international collaborations. In fact, there is a long list of musicians. As such, we highlight some Nigerian musicians who have collaborated with international music stars.

Omawumi

Omawunmi turned heads when she released the song ‘Play Na Play’ which she collaborated with Grammy Award winner, Angelique Kidjo. The two very strong-voiced artists put together a track which some would call a musical masterpiece.

2Baba

Since leaving the now-defunct ‘Platashun Boiz,’ 2Baba has been on the top of his game with hit after hit. Although it took him a while to collaborate with any international artist, when he did, he did not disappoint. In 2014, he collaborated with Bridget Kelly on ‘Let Me Love You.’ He then worked with R Kelly on the track ‘Flex’ and also, with T-Pain on the remix of his song ‘Rainbow.’

Davido

Davido has also been busy with collaboration after collaboration on hit songs. Back in 2015, he released his song ‘Fans Mi’ featuring American rapper Meek Mill, followed by ‘Pere’ collaborating with Rae Sremmurd and Young Thug. He also appeared on Wale’s ‘Fine Girl’ and just this week, rapper Quavo, from the music group Migos released a song ‘Swing’ from his yet to be released album, with Davido making an appearance.

Wizkid

Ever since his appearance on Drake’s hit, ‘One Dance,’ Wizkid has gone on to feature and be featured on a number of songs with international artists. From ‘Mamacita’ with British rapper Tinie Tempah, ‘Shabba’ with Chris Brown, Trey Songz and French Montana all on one track, to ‘U Don’t Know’ with Justine Skye and ‘For You’ featuring Akon off his 2014 ‘Ayo’ album. With all these collaborations, Wizkid is arguably one of Nigeria’s hottest artistes at the moment.

D’Banj

D’Banj had already become a smashing hit before the remix was dropped with rapper Snoop Dogg with the song being played on radio and TV stations alike for weeks. Just last year, he released another song off his ‘Kingdom Don Come’ album and featured Gucci Mane in the single, ‘El Chapo.’

P-Square

After signing with Akon’s ‘Konvict Music’ in 2011, they dropped a remix of their groundbreaking song ‘Chop My Money’ featuring Akon. But it didn’t stop there. About a year after, the duo released another remix of one of their songs ‘Beautiful Onyinye’ but this time, with rapper and Maybach Music Group (MMG) boss, Rick Ross. They also featured T.I. on their 2015 album, ‘Double Trouble.’
