In the MLS, former Dream Team VI trainee Nansel Selbol opened his goalscoring account for the season in Swope Park Rangers 3-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Friday.

The 19-year old scored in the 8th and was substituted in the 64th minute after picking up an injury.


At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City strolled to a 5-0 win over Crystal Palace with Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho coming off the bench in the 84th minute.

At the Vitality Stadium, former England youth international Jordon Ibe came off the bench in the 79th minute of Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with Stoke City.

At the KCOM stadium, Victor Anichebe put in a solid 90-minute performance as already relegated Sunderland shocked Hull City 2-0.He picked up a yellow card in the closing minutes of the encounter, Young strikers Josh Maja and Joel Asoro were not in included in Sunderland’s 18-man squad.

At the King Power Stadium, Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi celebrated his 20th appearance for Leicester City with a well struck goal in their 3-0 rout of Watford. He scored in the 38th minute. Isaac Success and Ahmed Musa watched proceedings from the bench for the entirety of the game.

In the late kickoff at the Liberty Stadium, Ross Barkley and Ademola Lookman both started on the bench for Everton in their 1-0 loss to Swansea City.

At the Olympic Stadium on friday, Dele Alli played for the whole 90 minutes as his team Tottenham Hotspurs fell to a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham United.


Raheem Lawal

Raheem Lawal bagged a brace in Kayserispor’s 3-2 road win over Ogenyi Onazi’s Trabzonspor. He scored in the 41st and 75th minute but later got booked for pushing compatroit Onazi. It was his fourth goal of the season.


It was a clash of two Super Eagles players on Sunday in the Chinese Super League, as Tianjin Teda slugged it out with Liaoning Hongyun.

Super Eagles and former Olympiakos of Greece striker Brown Ideye was in action for Tianjin and continued his goal drought but was replaced by Tianyi Qlu in the 86th mins while Anthony Ujah played all through the duration of the game in an encounter that ended in a 1-1.

Mikel didn’t feature for Tianjin Teda as he is still on a long injury layoff.


Taiwo Awoniyi

Former Dream VI striker Taiwo Awoniyi on Sunday scored his first competitive goal this season for Dutch team NEC Nijmegen. Awoniyi who came in the 83rd minutes for Wociech Golla scored the all-important goal for Nijmegen to give them a 2-1 over Az Alkmaar.

Awoniyi is expected to return to his parent club Liverpool in England at the end of the season.
