Reggae legend, Ukeleke Onwubya, popularly known as Ras Kimono, is dead. Ras Kimono was one of the pioneers of the reggae genre in Nigeria. His music had a lot of socially conscious messages and most of the messages in his songs are still relevant to the times we’re living in today.He reportedly died at the age of 60 today, 10th June 2018, in a Lagos hospital. He was rushed to the hospital last night after a brief illness according to multiple reports.
Kimono’s debut album Under Pressure was released on the Premier Music label in 1989. The album had hits such as Under Pressure, Natty Get Jail and the massive hit Rhumba Style.
