It has been reported that the former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has started to make amends to redeem his name and reclaim his freedom from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A Premium Times source confirmed that the former minister has offered to return N100 Million; an offer which was rejected by the agency.
According to the source, the EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu rejected the offer and demanded that the former minister signs an undertaken to return N600 million within a given time.
Obanikoro stated that he had no means of meeting the enormous demand, and refused to sign the undertaken.
As was confirmed by the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, Mr. Obanikoro has returned some money.
He also stated that the agency was verifying the payments and continuing with its investigations.
However, Mr. Obanikoro has been very cooperative with the agency.
