Former Super Eagle Obinna Nsofor has parted ways with South African Absa Premiership club Cape Town City just three months after he joined the club.
Nsofor joined Cape Town City FC from German second division club MSV Duisburg and scored once in 13 appearances in all competitions for the team. His only goal came in the Cape Town derby against Ajax Cape Town.
Cape Town City FC coach, former South Africa striker Benni McCarthy, revealed to South African press that the former Nigerian winger did not convince the club enough with his performance during his stay.
“Chairman John Comitis agreed with Victor from the beginning that we would do a review after six months and he didn’t feel that it was working for us‚”
“There are no hard feelings between us. He (Victor) understands.”
“I felt he was getting fitter‚ better and stronger but I don’t think the chairman was convinced.”
Obinna has featured for Italian sides Inter Milan and Chievo Verona‚ Lokomotiv Moscow‚ Malaga and West Ham before joining Cape Town City FC.
