Veteran Nollywood actor, Olumide Bakare, has died of respiratory disorder problem (lungs and heart disease) at the age of 65.4
His personal assistant, who made the announcement said he died in the early hours of Saturday. Bakare had been in and out of the hospital since 2013.
He had earlier denied he had a medical condition but when it worsened, he called on Nigerians to come to his aid, on his sick bed, at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.
According to reports, the actor was reported to have spent over N1 Million and still needed about N30, 000 daily for treatment and dialysis.
Mr. Bakare was popular for his role as Chief Koko in the rested TV series, Koko Close. The actor also starred alongside Genevieve Nnaji and Isaiah Washington in Tony Abulu’s Doctor Bello.
He is survived by four children.
