Adebayo Oke-Lawal aka The Orange Nerd (aka one fifth of the Shade Corner crew) is one of Nigeria’s spontaneous menswear designer. He is the presenter, founder and Creative Director of androgynous menswear brand Orange Culture Nigeria.
Designing since the age of 10, Bayo has been able to make numerous marks in fashion; writing, working with other designers, A-List actors, pop starts and even magazines among like Tiwa Savage, Rita Dominic, MoChedda, Elan and Wow Magazine.
Since the inception of his brand, Orange Culture, the creative genius has been featured on international platforms such as Elle, Vogue, Marie Claire, Voice of America, Financial Times and Vogue. Orange Culture is definitely not for the faint hearted as the brand was also a finalist for huge design platform, the LVMH (Louis Vuitton and Moet Hennessey). Bayo was picked alongside 29 of the hugest emerging designers from all over the world out of 1221.
The creative genius describes Orange Culture as a movement more than a clothing line as he creates a genderless and unique personality which caters for individuals who are not afraid to be themselves regardless of the general fashion stereotypes.
Later today, Orange Culture will be the first Nigerian designer showcasing his A/W 2017 collection at this years Fashion Scout – the UK’s largest independent showcase for emerging and established design talents during the London fashion week 2017. Well done Bayo!
