It’s officially the end of Paris Fashion Week and I don’t know what to do with myself.
Whilst we await The Grammys Best dressed in a few hours, let’s look through all the most flamboyant looks at the Haute Couture Show in Paris.
Translated literally, couture is French for dressmaking, while haute means high.
Therefore Haute couture is high-end fashion that is constructed from start to finish by hand, made from high-quality, expensive and outrageous fabric.
For me it’s a form of escapism meets romanticism and this year the prominent theme was the blooming of flora and enchanted gardens.
THEME: Inspiration was taken from the Spanish artist and Surrealist icon Salvador Dalí; seen in the golden Dali inspired chandelier drop earrings.
Whimsical, Dreamlike & Sophisticated
Luscious Leather & Gold Rings
THEME: Showcased a verdant symphony to depict the sapphic relationship between women and flowers.
Turn The Volume Up
PANTONE Colour of 2020
THEME: Each piece echoed a celestial beauty and the essence of a gracious convent garden. The deigns were a statement that Haute Couture can be injected into your daily life and not just for rare occasions.
Easter Sunday’s Best
Chanel’s Classic Co-ord
Frou-Frou & Florals
Theme: “WHAT if women ruled the world?”
This is how Maria Grazia Chiuri would dress them as the vivacious Goddesses they are.
The collection comprised of;
FringingTaupe, Bronze and Metallic Hues
and Greek Infused detailing
Theme: Structured silhouettes, Over the top detailing and Explosions of Sharp Hues.
Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli brought Maximalism at its finest although some said dubbed the collection as lazy and a bit disappointing.
