Paris Jackson has come out to explain why she was not present at the latest Billboard Music Awards ceremony held at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, where her aunt, Janet Jackson received the Billboard Icon Award.
The young artiste and daughter of the late Michael Jackson said she had not been invited by either her management or her family, hence she had no idea about her aunt receiving the award, until social media called her out for not attending.
Paris confirmed that there have been some separation issues in her family, which she called on the members of the public and social media to respect.
She noted that she should be allowed to handle her relationships with people around her, including her friends and family, as she sees fit.

“Dear social media followers, friends, stalkers, lovers and haters, and fellow moonwalkers: Please do not tell me/demand/try to control how I handle my relationship with the people in my life, specifically my family.
“As amazing and as sh*tty as things can be, it is no one’s business but ours. I understand that some of you feel some sort of connection or need to be apart of our lives considering you watched us grow up. However, I am handling my situation exactly how my father did. And I am happy keeping it that way. I will always have love and respect for my family. ALWAYS.”
