The legendary Premier League goalkeeper Petr Cech put in a Man of the match performance as he made his debut in Guildford Phoenix shootout win over Swindon Wildcats on Sunday.
Last week, the former Chelsea goalkeeper revealed that he was set to pursue his childhood ambitions of making it in ice hockey after he signed for the Phoenix.
The 37-year old made a fantastic save to keep score at 2-2 before making two saves in his club’s shootout win.
Cech is still the technical advisor at Chelsea.
He took to his Instagram to clarify that he did not switch careers, rather he juggles the two sports now.
He wrote: “Some people seem to think I changed my job.
No I didn’t . Luckily my job as the Technical and Performance adviser at Chelsea FC doesn’t stop me in my spare time from playing the game I loved as a kid and which I’ve been playing for years.
While being professional footballer I couldn’t play the games for obvious reason … now I can.”
