Talented rapper, Phenom has said he will be releasing his EP soon and it will be titled “Prodigal Son.”

This news comes barely 24hrs after the release of his new single “Yem Ego” featuring Phyno which is his first in years.

The lyricist made the revelation on his Instagram page, after a fan had demanded to know why he only did one rap verse in his new song after years of waiting.

The rapper replied saying, “EP drops soon #TheProdigalSon you will get an overdose. I miss me too‼🏋️‍️.”

Phenom, real name Topa Onimowo is one of the talented rappers Nigeria is blessed with. He’s known for his metaphorical hot bars and deliveries, and he was celebrated for that until a prolonged hiatus after leaving his then record label, Knight House saw his shine dwindle.

But the singer is now ready for a comeback and he is set to take over the music scene by storm just like he did in 2011.

His debut single, “Omo Naija” was widely acclaimed, earning him a spot on BET’s 106 and Park countdown. His follow up singles “Shukubambam” and “Murder Dem” also received massive reviews and were very successful.

Before his long break from the music scene, the rapper featured on numerous hit songs that include former label mate, Mo’Cheddah’s “See Me”, Jaywon’s “Catch Me if you can Remix” featuring  Ice Prince and  MI’s “6ft 7ft remix” on the “Illegal Music 2 mixtape” to mention a few.

For Phenom, “it only takes one song for someone to be big again. I just need to be more hard-working,” he told Punch and we expect to see that happen soon for the rap genius.
