Former Sutton United keeper Wayne Shaw has been suspended from all football-related activity for two months and fined £375 after he breached betting rules.
A Gambling Commission probe has ruled he influenced a football betting market and brought the game into disrepute which is a breach of FA Rules.
The shot-stopper, who will be remembered for eating a pie during his side’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal last season, was alleged to have intentionally influenced a football betting market during The Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round tie against Arsenal in February contrary to FA Rule E5(a).
The charge was found proven following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing yesterday, however, he has denied it.
