A 30 year old Lagos club owner popularly known as Pretty Mike has been trending on social media for viral pictures of him holding girls on a leash like dogs in public.
Concerned citizens who were disturbed by the act called on the government to act fast to stop such bizarre anti-social behavior.
Pretty Mike was arrested on Wednesday by the police on the orders of the Lagos State Government as a result of the said act.
He was however released after giving an undertaking to desist from putting any woman or man on a leash to dehumanize them.
The undertaking read in part: “I, Mike Eze Nwalie, A.K.A Pretty Mike of 21A Magodo GRA, Luma Street, do hereby undertake to stop whatever act of putting girls on a leash or any other degrading treatment to ladies and guys. I am aware that such act offends the law of the State of Lagos and if I repeat it again, there will be legal act towards me. I undertake to issue a letter of apology to the public effective from tomorrow on all my social media platforms.”
Pretty Mike apologizes:
The club owner has taken to his Instagram page to apologize for putting ladies on a leash during his outings, saying he meant well by his craft.
“There has been a lot of controversy over two of my outings holding some females on a leash. I apologize to all the women and the good people of Lagos State, Nigeria and the rest of the world who feel dehumanized by this craft that meant well. I will use other platforms and format to continue to create the necessary awareness…#WomenRights #PeaceAmbassador”
