Acne can be really annoying to deal with and they always seem to appear from nowhere. Actually, sometimes, they did not come from ‘nowhere’, but from the germs involved in some of our habits. Here’s how to prevent that acne from rising again:

Don’t touch your face: Seriously this can be so bad for your skin, especially after a long day. You end up transferring any bacteria that you pick up thought-out the day to your face. Make sure to wash your hand before apply makeup or skin care products.

Wash your pillowcase frequently: Make sure to wash your pillowcase at least once a week. In fact, clean anything that comes into contact with your face frequently including makeup applicators and your phone.

Know what you are putting on your skin: Knowing is so important especially if you have sensitive skin. Going for be so much better because harsh chemicals can mess up with the natural protective layer on your skin. Also, buy products according to your skin type.  Avoid things like Synthetic perfume, Alcohol (unless in acne drying products), Sodium Chloride, Coconut Oil if you have extremely acne prone skin. Super important: NO SULFATES!

Lastly, watch your diet: What you eat can have a massive effect on how good your skin looks. Watch out for processed sugars, white rice, and in general, processed foods can make cause a spike in insulin in the blood causing your skin to produce more oil, which can clog pores. Adopt foods like oranges, fish, nuts, beans, and tomatoes to help your skin.
