It hasn’t even been a full day since the UEFA cup went to Rome, instead of going home, as all the English men, women and children had been chanting for too long, and domestic violence already looks to be on the rise.

On the 11th of July, Italy and England faced off in the finals of the UEFA Cup, which went to penalties after Luke Shaw scored in the first 2 minutes of the game and Leonardo Bonucci in 67th. If you’ve read this far, you already know the outcome of the match and therefore know that England lost the penalties. Marcus Rashford took his penalty but the ball hit the bar of the post and went out. He missed. Then Jadon Sancho Missed. Then 19 year-old Bukayo Saka missed. Unfortunately for them, and the rest of England, all three that missed were black, which has now become the basis of many attacks on them.

Deep down we all knew that if England lost the Euros, there would be poor public behaviour to follow, but with the way the penalties went now anti-black sentiments are in the mix and are flooding both the streets and the internet. Disgusting ‘fans’ immediately took to social media to harass the three footballers on their personal accounts and as well abuse them on the internet. Monkey emojis and phrases like “go back to Africa/Nigeria”, “of course the darkies lossed us the game” and the like where everywhere. The N-word with the hard R even began TRENDING in the UK under sports.

It is a sad and sorry sight but what is even worse is what’s going on in the real world. The stadium hadn’t even been fully evacuated before fists started to fly. White men were beating up themselves and further outside, under the cover of the night, black people were ambushed by flag wielding football fanatics. Fortunately for some of them, other black people and non-racist football fans helped out. But those were the ones that were filmed. Imagine what happened to the ones that weren’t. In fact, you don’t have to imagine. As of now, 13 stabbings have been reported, a black man was pushed onto train tracks and another thrown into the River Thames. This is absolutely abhorrent behavior. The saddest part is that it probably won’t stop there. From past experience with England being a sore loser, domestic violence could rise by 38% because of 22 people and a ball. Wow.

Many people all over the world wanted to see England lose and they just made the reason that much more clearer for everyone.
