A release date has finally been set for Sylvester Stallone’s final Rambo movie.
The fifth and final film in the series – Rambo: Last Blood – has been confirmed to be released on the big screen by Lionsgate on September 20, 2019.
The film follows Rambo as he travels to Mexico after his friend’s daughter is kidnapped, and he quickly finds himself up against one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.
The movie was first unveiled by Stallone in 2015 but production only began in October 2018, with Adrian Grunberg in the director’s chair.
The film is scripted by Stallone and Matt Cirulnick. It follows Stallone’s last film in the series Rambo in 2008.
Yvette Monreal stars as the kidnap victim Gabrielle, while Paz Vega plays Carmen Delgado, a reporter covering the drug trade in Mexico who helps Rambo after her half-sister is kidnapped.
Sergio Peris-Mencheta will play Hugo Martinez, the violent leader of a Mexican cartel, while Adriana Barraza, Oscar Jaenada and Joaquín Cosío will all also star.
