Network executives have the epic job of deciding which shows are worthy of staying on our TV screens or not. And while most of the time they cancel trash, sometimes they break our hearts and get rid of some true treasures (RIP Firefly…gone too soon!)
Over the past couple of months, networks have been making major decisions on which shows will be granted another season and which show gets the boot. Here’s a list of some noteworthy renewals:
If you are half as addicted to this show as I am, you will agree that this is exciting news. Yes some of our favorite characters have left the show, but it is still a really good and unpredictable watch. Can’t wait for the 13th season and it’s just a month away!
How to Get Away with Murder
Looks like Annalise Keating and her five evil semi-children have been given another chance to cover up murders for a 3rd season. Despite the now predictable drama and murder, we can’t help but be on the edge of our seats every time we watch this.
We were definitely not expecting this one to be renewed mainly because we don’t know anybody who managed to finish all of season 1 but the fact is, we’re not complaining about getting to catch random glimpses of Priyanka Chopra dazzle our screens while we flick through DSTV. Season 2 is set to be aired in September.
I fear, some of these shows may outlive us all. Criminal minds has somehow been renewed for a 12th season and we get to see another year of FBI’s finest catch the bad guys… again. Still this year might be pretty interesting. Derek is gone and Thomas Gibson was fired just a few days ago after an altercation with a producer so who knows where the show will go without Hotchner.
Orange is the New Black
Looks like this show is going to be around for a while has it has been renewed for not just one but three more seasons. My question is how long has Piper been in jail for? Shouldn’t she have served her time by now? I’m not that worried though- the OITNB writers always manage to come up with something wonderful.
The Vampire Diaries
For some reason, this show has been renewed for its eighth season. I totally don’t get it- the show is so old even the main character got tired and left. But I hear, this might be the final season. If this is true, we have to admit we are going to miss the Salvatore brothers and their friends- not enough for them to stick around though.
