Runtown has unveiled his own music company, ‘Sound God Music Group’.
The company is said to be a full-on 360 music and entertainment company aimed at redefining the business of music in Africa, and more.
“Over time, we have been blessed with the talent and wisdom to apply it to use. It’s time we take it a step higher, and carry the sound and the message to where it belongs; the top,” the “Mad Over You” crooner says.
However, with Runtown floating his own music company, it’s not clear yet if the rapper has eventually settled with his label, Eric Many Entertainment who accused him of breaching his contract agreement and slammed him a court injunction.
According Eric Many in a statement released early this month, the rapper is owing the label N267 million following his failure to appropriately deliver his album as agreed in the contract he signed. The label also said he has deliberately made attempts to register his professional name, ‘Runtown’, without the label’s consent and abscond from the contract he signed with the label.
“While our Contract is supposed to fall due for expiration on June 22, 2018, Eric Many now has an outstanding balance of about N266,694,755 to recoup on our investment and expenses on Runtown’s career. He is also yet to deliver an album which the Contract requires him to deliver to us during the Contract period,” the label had said in a statement.
The rapper, since the court injunction, doesn’t seem to be deterred as he has gone about his business, performing at shows and now launching his own music company.
