Ahmed Musa’s second goal during Super Eagles 2-0 win over Iceland at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia has been nominated for the best goal of the tournament.

Musa’s goal was picked alongside 17 other goals scored at the mundial in a poll conducted by FIFA. The Leicester City forward collected a pass from Kenneth Omeruo where he dribbled past the Iceland defence before rounding the keeper to score.

Other goals nominated for the award are:

-Cristiano Ronaldo– third goal vs Spain

-Nacho—goal vs Portugal

-Philipe Coutinho—goal vs Switzerland.

-Denis Cheryshev–vs Saudi Arabia and Croatia

-Lionel Messi—goal vs Nigeria

-Nacer Chadli—goal vs Japan.

-Benjamin Pavard—goal vs Argentina

-Ricardo Quaresma—goal vs Iran

-Adnan Januzaj—goal vs England

-Angel Di Maria—goal vs France

-Jesse Lingard—goal vs Panama

-Toni Kroos—goal vs Sweden

-Luka Modric—goal vs Argentina

-Artem Dzyuba—goal vs Egypt

-Juan Quintero—goal vs Japan

-Dries Mertens—goal vs Panama

The 26-year old is the only African to feature on the list.

Voting will end on Monday the 23rd of July on FIFA’s website.
