Who else is rooting for a spin-off focused on the delightful Princess Shuri, like we are?

Ryan Coogler, the director of Black Panther says that he won’t mind a female-focused Black Panther Spin-off.

He said this when he was asked if the women of Black Panther were just as important as the men during a talk at the Cannes Film Festival and Coogler responded, “Oh man. That would be amazing if the opportunity came up. They did it in the comic-book version.”

Coogler continued, saying, “There’s a whole section of the film where T’Challa is out of the movie and you’re just following the women. That’s one of my favorite parts of the movie when I watched it, and I didn’t expect that.” He added that any of the actresses “could easily carry their own movie.”

So, if you hear of a film centered on the breakout women of Wakanda, played by Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Danai Gurira (Okoye), and Letitia Wright (Shuri), do not be surprised.
