Record-breaking Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is set to get his own exhibit among the Egyptian collection at the British Museum as his boots will go on display in the run up to Liverpool’s Champions League final match against Real Madrid.
The high-flying Egyptian won the golden boot with a record 32 goals and has scored a total of 44 goals in 51 appearances.
According to the exhibit keeper Neal Spencer: “The boots tell a story of a modern Egyptian icon, performing in the UK, with a truly global impact.
“This acquisition builds on our recent project to acquire objects to tell the story of day-to-day life in 20th and 21st century Egypt.”
Salah will be leading his country Egypt at the World Cup when the showpiece starts next month.
