This year’s Met Gala was in honor of the lone designer, Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcon – Art of the in-between.
This is the first time the costume gala has honored a single living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983.
The event was held in the early hours of May Day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
As all of the A-list celebrities, models, designers and artists descended upon the event, once again Rihanna showed up to the Met Gala schooling everyone on the art of dressing for a theme.
She wore a Comme des Garcon Autumn/winter 2016 look created by the Japanese designer.
Unsurprisingly, Bahd Gal Riri stole the show.
However, it was sorta toned down for attention queen, Kim Kardashian, as she wore an uncharacteristically demure Vivienne Westwood official gown at the 2017 Met Gala.
