We know Nigerians love to party but we like to think there’s a limit.
Folarin, one of Folorunsho Alakija’s four sons, married his Iranian sweetheart, Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifa, in a lavish, picturesque wedding that was allegedly worth a whopping £5 million.
Folarin who is a father-of-one is an entrepreneur, investor and cinematographer, who lost his first wife to cancer.
The wedding was celebrated with an extravagant gig at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, in England.
The Blenheim Palace is usually used as a film location and has appeared in Hollywood movies like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Rogue Nation, Cinderella and the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Knight.
The wedding had about one million roses, a 12ft cake and a surprise performance from Robin Thicke.
The Woodstock venue, which is the ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill, was kitted out with one million white roses, a lavish cake decorated with hundreds of ornate white roses and even hosted pop star Robin Thicke at an estimated cost of £150,000.
Wedding planners believe the venue hire was exclusively hired at a cost of £150,000 with the bespoke marquee and bespoke marble floor with their initials etched in gold costing around £200,000 on top.
Hence, you can only imagine the price.
You may say there is no justification for the extravagance, but when your mother is the wealthiest woman in Africa, you should not expect less.
