Serena Williams is top of the list on Forbes Richest Female Athletes list, where eight of the highest earning female athletes are tennis players.
The list, which covers June 2017-June 2018, has the 23-time Grand Slam champion, making just $62,000 in prize money during the period, owing largely to her 14-month break to have a baby.
However, Williams’ $18 million in endorsements makes up for the difference, and it’s nearly double the amount of longtime rival Maria Sharapova, who makes $9.5 million in endorsement money.
Badminton and race car driver PV Sindhu and Danica Patrick, are the only non-tennis players who made the top 10 .In June, after Williams dropped out of the chart for the world’s top 100 highest earning athletes, the Forbes rankings did not feature any other woman

Simona Halep (tennis) — $7.7m
Danica Patrick (racing) — $7.5m
Angelique Kerber (tennis) — $7m
