The governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson has made known his backing for Eyitayo Jegede, a candidate of the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) as the authentic candidate of the PDP for the November 26th coming governorship election in Ondo State.
The governor is reported to have visited Ondo State on Tuesday to join in on the campaign for his party ahead of the elections.
The governing while urging citizens of the state during the campaign, said that, “A vote for PDP is a vote for consolidation of development, peace and prosperity and I am confident that the good people of Ondo State know what is good and will not be deceived by the antics of the opposition,”
Also in attendance at the campaign was the PDP spokesperson, Dayo Adeyeye and the Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko.
Mr. Dickson who is said to have headed the Committee that conducted the primaries which produced Jegede as a candidate of the party urged the honourable court presiding over the ‘candidacy power-tussle’ going on in the Ondo PDP chapter to quickly resolve the issues.
He also stated that the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and the All Progressives Party (APC) are not credible alternatives for the state which has been under the administration of Governor Mimiko of PDP.
