The Afrobeat singer, son of the legend Fela, Seun Kuti sat down to talk Afrobeat, true defintion of art, touring with Lauryn Hill and more.

The Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti explains that most so-called artists are just entertainers, simply packaged and sold to mainstream media as a product;

“True art requires depth, there is no depth to most artists, they are just packaged and sold as a product to mainstream media,”

Kuti talks about the type of songs he makes, saying virtually, all his songs are socially and politically charged adding that Afrobeat is pop music but Africans are simply scared of competing with American pop musicians in composition and arrangements.

Seun also talks about the Black Lives Matter Movement, how he admires Lauryn Hill among others.
