Though Manchester United are currently in a rebuilding phase, while Ole Gunna Solskjaer is doing quite a good job at rebuilding the fallen giants, there’s a need for more reinforcements, if they’re to get back to being the face of the English Premier League.
Wilfred Ndidi
The Red Devils have made some good signings this season, getting Daniel James from Swansea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire. They’ve been standout defenders in the league, while Bruno Fernande and Odion Ighalo have hit the ground running, since signing for United this January, from Sporting Lisbon and Shanghai Shenhua respectively.

United’s team is currently a player or two away from being finished. One major player they should be looking to sign is Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi.

Ndidi currently has the highest average tackles per game this season in the league, with a record of four tackles per game. With a player like this, he easily complements Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in midfield, giving the 2 players freedom to create chances and chaos closer to opposition posts.

Leicester currently has the third-best defensive record in the league, and actually had the best defensive record, just before Ndidi got injured. This shows how significant Ndidi is at stopping opposition attacks and defending his post.

Nemanja Matic, who is the best defensive midfielder in United, is currently past his prime, with Ole sometimes opting for the younger but inexperienced, Scott Mctominay. United would need to do better than relying on a young and inexperienced player if they hope to get back to the top soon.

Manchester United have been urged by former players,  like Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves, to make the move for the Nigerian International, which is a sign of what to expect.
