Samson Siasia’s mother, Madam Ogere Beauty Siasia, has regained freedom from her abductors after she spent over two months in captivity.
The aged mother of the former Super Eagles coach who was abducted from her house in her country home in Odoni community, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, was freed in the early hours of Sunday.
The family recently paid N1.5 million ransom to the abductors who refused to release the octogenarian few weeks ago, rather they released one of the in-laws who was abducted along with the aged mother.
When contacted, the spokesman for the Bayelsa State Police Command, DSP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
A relative of the family, Pinaowor Siasia, also confirmed the release and said the elderly woman would be taken to hospital for medical checks.
Siasia, who also served in the Nigerian Football Federation, was last month hit by a life ban by the sport’s world governing body FIFA after its ethics panel found him guilty of taking bribes in connection to match fixing.
