With the hot summer months coming up, having a solid skincare routine can help reduce the need for makeup. It can also help you achieve that youthful summer glow that you see all over Instagram. Before creating your routine, you need to identify your skin type. This will help you chose products that are best for you skin.

Adopting these simple steps can bring you this much closer to perfect skin:

skin

1.)    Face wash/Cleanser

Invest in a sulfate-free cleanser to help clean deep into your pores. If you have an oily skin type, you may want to invest in a cleanser with charcoal. This will help dry up those excess oils. You will want to cleanse your skin twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening after a long day. It is essential to make sure you wash face after a long day of being exposed to all the pollution in the air.

2.)    Toner

You want to avoid a toner with alcohol in it. This can have a drying effect on the skin. A good cleanser can help shrink pores while refreshing the skin.

3.)    Serums

Serums have recently had a massive surge of popularity. You want one with a high level of Vitamin C, E or K each offering a different benefit. The right serum can help with wrinkles, acne, pores and dark spots. They have the best effect when combined with a good moisturizer.

4.)    Moisturizer

These need to be chosen according to your skin type. People with sensitive skin need to be going for one that is scent-free; Oily skin needs an oil-free moisturizer; Combination needs a light-weight one; dry skin and normal skin needs one with SPF that offers a lot of hydration. SPF is essential for all skin types.

5.)    Face Masks

They should be done at least once a week and can help revive tired skin after a busy week at work. These can even be made at home with all natural ingredients ranging from honey to bananas.
