Two female suicide bombers are reported to have detonated their bombs simultaneously at two different locations in Maiduguri, Borno State on the morning of Saturday, 29th October.
According to the spokesman of the Nigerian Army 7 Division, Mustapha Anka, the explosions occurred at about 7:05am on Saturday.
One was detonated at the entrance of the Bakassi Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs’) camp by the female suicide bomber who ran into a group of men and women while they were coming out of the camp.
Reports from National Emergency Management Center (NEMA) confirms that the explosion claimed nine lives, and 25 were injured.
The second suicide bomber boarded a keke Napep in order to gain entrance into an NNPC mega station, but as she was not successful, she detonated the bomb, killing the 3 occupants of the keke. There is no record of any injured person in respect of this incident.
