Daley blind believes that they can take advantage of their physical superiority over Liverpool.

He told Mutv: “We have a lot of height in the box and we must use that.

“Top-level football games are close and they can be decided with small details; set-pieces are one of them and it is an opportunity for us to score a goal.”

Despite the managerial turmoil at Old Trafford over the summer, Blind is one of the few players who has remained ever-present in the United team for both Louis van Gaal and his successor Jose Mourinho.

Blind has missed just one of United’s Premier League, initially partnering summer signing Eric Bailly at centre-back.

And while he has been shifted to the left-hand side of defense of the last two games, the Netherlands international is just desperate to be involved in today’s match.

“These are the games you live for when you are young, growing up wanting to be a footballer,” Blind added. “It will be a tough game; we will have to play well but so will they.

“Games like this are played with a lot of emotion but, just like every game, we go into this to win. What is important is the result and we will try to get that.”
